Little Munchkins Learning Center has been a proud part of the Austin community since 1976. Founded by James and Darlene Corbin, the center quickly became known for its warm, family-oriented atmosphere and dedication to providing a nurturing, safe environment for children. For nearly 50 years, Little Munchkins has built a strong foundation centered on love, learning, and creating a place where children feel safe, supported, and at home.
In 2011, Ed and Brenda Winterroth became the stewards of Little Munchkins, continuing its longstanding traditions while expanding opportunities for the children and families we serve. Their daughter, Crystal Winterroth, continues to serve as our Center Director today, providing experienced leadership and an important connection to the history and culture that have made Little Munchkins special for so many years.
In 2026, Little Munchkins entered its next chapter under new ownership with a commitment to preserving everything families have come to know and love about the center while continuing to invest in its future. Our focus remains on supporting our teachers, strengthening our programs, improving our facilities and resources, and ensuring Little Munchkins continues to be a place where children and families can thrive for generations to come.
Over the years, Little Munchkins has been recognized for its commitment to children and families, including being voted Austin’s Best of the Best in 2020. We are also proud of our participation in the Texas Rising Star program and our continued commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education and care.
While Little Munchkins has grown and evolved since opening its doors in 1976, our purpose remains the same: to provide a nurturing, safe environment where every child is loved, encouraged to learn, and given the opportunity to thrive.
At Little Munchkins Learning Center, our staff is the heart of our program. Each member of our team is hardworking, dedicated, and genuinely cares for the well-being of every child. They go above and beyond each day to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children feel loved and valued.
Our teachers bring patience, creativity, and enthusiasm to the classroom, guiding children through meaningful experiences that promote growth in every area of development. They are committed not only to teaching but also to building strong relationships with children and families, ensuring open communication and trust.
With their passion and dedication, our staff helps create a family-like atmosphere where children thrive, parents feel confident, and lasting memories are made.
Our dedicated teachers and staff are the heart of Little Munchkins. Get to know the wonderful people who care for your children every day.
